A Designated Pilot Examiner is a private individual appointed under 14 CFR part 183. Designation is a privilege, not a right, and may be limited or withdrawn by the FAA. The examiner represents the Administrator only when performing authorized functions listed on the current Certificate Letter of Authority.

Nothing on this site is official FAA policy. The regulations, ACS/PTS, Order 8900.1, Order 8000.95, and the CLOA control. If this site conflicts with those documents, those documents govern.

Fees charged for examiner services are private fees. They are not FAA fees and are not paid to the FAA.

The scheduling form does not store applicant data on this website. It prepares an email. Do not send Social Security numbers. IACRA already collects the data the FAA requires.

Service-area descriptions and sample service lists are informational. Availability depends on authorization, aircraft, weather, and the examiner’s other duties.
